The implementation of our new corporate strategy, “2b ahead - Verkehrsbüro Strategy 2022”, started in 2018. The Verkehrsbüro Group can build on 101 years of experience. This new strategy represents our future direction in a dynamic market environment. The foundation of our success has always been a strong customer focus. This maxim applies both online and offline - and that 24/7. We are where our customers need us. Our mission: we make every trip, every overnight stay and every event a very special experience for our customers.

The Verkehrsbüro Group is an innovative, profitable and growing flagship enterprise in the Austrian economy. Our outstanding service quality and operational excellence are the keys to our organic growth in all our business segments. We seize these opportunities to achieve growth, and acquisitions form part of our strategy. The hotel segment will be our most important growth driver in the coming years. Our plans include a number of new projects and acquisitions in Austria as well as in neighboring countries. Our focus here is on the German market, but we also regard CEE, Italy and Switzerland as possible target markets.

Digitalization and innovation

We regard digitalization not as a goal in itself but as a daily reality in the tourism sector. Our customers and guests want to reach us around the clock via various channels. That is exactly what our strategy focusses on: we aim to seamlessly connect the offline world and online experience. We always offer the best service, regardless of whether customers use apps or visit one of our travel agencies. Tourism is a people’s business – the human factor and service quality are the keys to customer satisfaction. 

Employees and digitalization

We rely on process automation to enable our employees to fully focus on their customers. This includes the digitalization of training management as well as the introduction of chatbots and intelligent solutions on our website to connect travel advisers and customers. Centralized business process management will ensure that all key processes within the group are documented and optimally supported by 2022. 


Focus on customer and employee satisfaction

We are hosts, service providers and employers, both in our hearts and our minds. The needs of our customers are the main focus of our business mindset and actions. But it is also clear to us: only satisfied employees can inspire customers. That’s why we carried out a group-wide employee survey in 2018. The aim of this was to gain a comprehensive overview and to successively increase employee satisfaction levels by means of targeted development and support. 

Structure follows strategy

tructure follows strategy: our new corporate structure, H2022, places the brand environment of the Verkehrsbüro Group firmly at the heart of the organization. Ruefa, Eurotours and Verkehrsbüro Business Services, Austria Trend Hotels and Palais Events are the anchor points around which the new structure is built. Supported by management and service departments in the holding company, these divisions will work alongside the executive board to pursue these goals and safeguard our long-term success.
